The Tacks XF pants have a max coverage anatomical shield design construction coupled with Flex Motion technology for a better fit and more coverage. The D3O zero smart material found in the hips and back of these pants works by using a unique molecular structure which allows molecules to flow freely in standard conditions, giving the material a soft and flexible feel. On impact, like a body check or blocked shot, the molecules lock together to absorb and dissipate impact energy. This means that the stronger the impact, the more the molecules react, offering you unparalleled protection.
The hip and back are two key areas where impacts can occur during hockey if not properly protected. CCM uses their JDP hip cap and reinforces the area with D3O for a pro-level construction designed to disperse impact away from the hip joint while absorbing shock. For the back, D3O is combined with an exposed foam spine protector for a high level of impact resistance, moving as you move, so the technology can do its job.
The Tacks XF pants include molded caps in select areas for further protection. In the kidney, a molded PE cap offers pro-level impact resistance, and in the thigh, a floating molded PE cap partners with PE foam for excellent protection and comfort.
For overall construction, CCM uses the top-end 400D premium quality nylon with a high abrasion resistant side panel, which reduces overall weight and optimizes durability in high-wear areas. For fit, the XF includes an internal belt system developed for ultimate comfort and adjustability, a stabilized belly pad for increased protection, and a length adjusting zipper with a 1-inch length extension for customization based on your personal dimensions and fit preference.
